Apologetics gives scientific, mathematical, historical, archeological and other extra-Biblical evidence for the existence of God, the accuracy of Scripture, etc. and is based on 1 Peter 3:15. “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

Polemics examines any doctrinal teaching, either heretical or which simply has a supported alternative view, and compares it with Scripture. It seeks to answer the question: “What does the Bible really teach?” It is based on Jude 3 “that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once (and for all) delivered unto the saints.”
